While exploring or just simply standing in a town you may be moving your mouse around aimlessly on screen for some reason.
In Tidal Destiny the mouse serves a couple different functions. The main function is the left Click interaction and the Right click interaction.
It also features a middle mouse “scroll wheel” zoom in and zoom out in their respective directions which allows the player to zoom closer or further away from their character for various scenarios.
Here’s the question I ask.
The mouse pointer being overtop of an item that is a “UI” object or Interface object and interacting with mentioned element with left click or right click respectively (most times left click to “Open” or interact with UI element)
should this be all the mouse does?
Or
Should players be able to hover the mouse over various items and be shown a “ToolTip” or text where their mouse is showing what that hovered over item is.
This “ToolTip” text will only show when hovered over an item that you can interact with one way or another.
If ToolTips are added do we provide the player a way to Toggle on and off the ToolTips?
Curious 🧐 to know what people think in regards to this. Hovering over a rock and knowing it’s a rock but always seeing “rock” may be annoying.
Yet the other argument could be not knowing what items are and are not intractable could be a daily struggle without this.
Thoughts, comments, feedback or ideas all welcomed!
